I graduated high school from IKM in 2001. I attended Grand View where I received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Secondary Education with a business endorsement and an Accounting minor. I have taught at Collins-Maxwell since the Fall of 2006 and have coached, been the at-risk teacher for a few years, received my ELL endorsement from Morningside College, and have been involved with/led many different groups in my time here at CM. My husband, Nick, and I have 3 kids, Caleb, Callahan, and Kyler, and a dog, Ruger. We live on an acreage in the district and we love working on our little farm, horse riding, boating, and just spending time with family and friends. Go Spartans!

Cameron Mitchell I am super excited for my second year of teaching and my first year teaching at Collins-Maxwell Elementary! I am originally from the Des Moines area and graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Instrumental Music Education. During my time at Iowa State, I performed in the ISU Wind Ensemble, and ISU Cyclone Marching Band and was a 3-time finalist for the ISUSO Concerto Competition.
I now live in Altoona with my spouse Matthew and our three cats. Outside of school, I enjoy hanging out with family, cooking and baking, going for walks, and playing card and board games.

I graduated from Dowling Catholic High School in 1992, attended DMACC, and worked with our family office furniture business for over 20 years. I went back to college and graduated from Grand View University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in secondary education and mathematics. I have been teaching at C-M since the Fall of 2015. I have three sons, two have graduated from C-M, and one is still in school, two daughters-in-law, a granddaughter, and a grandson. I enjoy all types of music, singing, jet skiing at the lake, attending my children's and grandchildren's events, and spending time with friends and family. I am very excited about where we are headed as SPARTANS!!!

Hello! The 2022-2023 school year is my 13th year at Collins-Maxwell (7 as a substitute teacher and the last 6 as an MS/HS ELA teacher). My family lives outside of Maxwell and I love the fact that I live, work, and have kids that attend school all in the same district. Being part of a small school that feels like a family makes teaching and building relationships so enjoyable.
